Natalie White is a Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services. Over her 15-year career as a software engineer and solutions architect, she has developed a deep technical skill set across a wide breadth of industries - telecommunications at Motorola, health and welfare at Fidelity Investments, e-commerce payment processing at CyberSource (VISA), and pharmacy at PDX. Her year-long tenure at AWS has been a leveling-up of her career as she provides technical consultation and cloud computing best practices to her customers.
As an active member of the SWE Orange County Professional Section, Natalie has served as FY20 President, FY19 Internal Vice President, attends Executive Council meetings, social and outreach events, and composed the section's FY18 - FY19 quarterly Newsletters to showcase the section's activities throughout the year. Before moving with her family to southern California for her husband's job, she was an active member of the SWE Fort Worth Professional Section, serving in several officer roles including Webmaster and President, and organizing multiple Summer Outreach programs partnered with UT Arlington and Girls, Inc. She makes annual national and regional SWE conferences a priority for networking, professional development, and fun with other SWEsters!
Natalie earned a BS in Computer Science and a BS in Mathematics from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX in 2005. She continues to add new technical frameworks and programming languages to her tool belt on the job, and enjoys using her technical skills in her volunteer work as well, including as Pack Webmaster for her son's Cub Scout Pack 700 in Aliso Viejo, CA. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, sewing, knitting, swing dancing, and exploring California with her family.

Internal Vice-President - Krista Miguel

Krista Miguel is an early-career Electrical Engineer EIT with a wide range of professional internship experience. Prior to her current position as a Distribution Engineer at TRC, Krista worked as an engineer at City of Anaheim and completed internships at Disneyland Resort, GE, City of Fresno, PG&E, and Toyota. Krista received her BS in Electrical Engineering from Fresno State in May 2017.
Krista has been a SWE member since 2012, when she joined as a collegiate member of Fresno State. Krista has since been Fresno State's Section Treasurer and Section President. Krista has been a member of SWE - OC since the summer of 2018, when she took on the position of Outreach Chair. She was part of the organizing team for Girl Scouts of OC Engineering Day in 2019 and was also on the WE19 Host Committee. She has previously been to three SWE Annual Conferences (Los Angeles, Nashville, and Anaheim) and currently serves as SWE-OC's Internal Vice President.
In her free time, Krista likes to hang out with her four-legged children, Charlie and Mabel (meow). She also frequently visits the Disneyland Resort and likes to hang out in South Orange County, either shopping, dining, hiking, running, or going to the beach

External Vice-President - Maryam Asghari

Maryam Asghari is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Advanced Power and Energy Program at UCI. Maryam's research aims at a more sustainable, efficient power generation and a clean environment. She is currently a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship (GRFP) scholar, Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Scholar, and Carbon Neutrality Initiative (CNI) Fellow. Maryam's leadership experiences include STEM co-chair for the Diverse Educational Community and Doctoral Experience (DECADE) Student Council, a council that is dedicated to increasing the number of women and underrepresented minorities that receive doctoral degrees and President of Association of Energy Engineers at UCI and the Vice President of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Association Graduate Student. Maryam has organized various professional and social events to empower women and minorities on the UCI campus. Other leadership roles include that of Legislative Director for the Association of Graduate Students (AGS) and Campaign Director for the UC Graduate & Professional Council where she has been coordinating lobby visits with national, state and local policymakers and advocates on behalf of graduate students. During her involvement with AGS, she led the UCI AGS Annual Graduate Research Symposium for 2018. She has been involved in outreach programs throughout different organizations and also has been committed to her community by serving on the Verano Place Residents Council. Maryam has been participating in the SWE-OC chapter as the External Organization Chair. Maryam's experiences, dedication, and passion, together with her leadership and commitment to the community, make her a great candidate for External Vice President of SWE-OC where she can follow her passion for empowering women in engineering.
Treasurer - Selen Alper

Selen Alper is a Software Engineering Program Manager at Panasonic Avionics Corporation (PAC). PAC is the market leader of in-flight entertainment and is headquartered in Lake Forest, CA. Selen graduated from UCLA with a degree in electrical engineering and started her career as a development and test engineer at Panasonic Avionics working on seat software, before making a career change into technical program management.
Selen was first introduced to SWE in high school as a result of SWE-OC’s K12 activities. During her undergrad, she was involved with SWE and IEEE, and also acted as the President of the Engineering Society of UCLA. Her favorite SWE events are professional development events. She especially appreciates SWE’s Mission to “demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion.” |
Secretary - Chandler Huggins

Chandler Huggins is an early-career Mechanical Engineer EIT. Prior to her most recent position with Gannett Fleming as an Associate Water Engineer, Chandler completed an internship at First Quality Nutek Disposables, and collegiate projects with Corning and PepsiCo Frito-Lay. Chandler received her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University in May 2018. In her commitment to sustainability, Chandler also received her LEED Green Associate certification in April 2018.
Chandler has been a SWE member since 2014, when she joined as a collegiate member at Bucknell University. Chandler has been a member of SWE - OC since the summer of 2019, when she took on the position of Corporate Relations Chair and joined the Publicity Committee. She has previously been to one SWE Annual Conference (Anaheim) and can't wait to attend more!
In her free time, Chandler likes to play with her Portuguese Water Dog, Nala. She also likes to cook, enjoy the outdoors, attend theatrical performances, and work on various home improvement projects. Chandler is originally from Chicago, Illinois.
