Science@OC Women in STEM Night
Share your passion for science, technology, engineering or mathematics at the upcoming Women of STEM Night hosted by the Femineers Club at Tustin High School. Volunteer as a guest speaker and share enthusiasm for your career and your journey in a 3-5 minute presentation. Join us for the mixer immediately following the presentations to answer questions about growing opportunities and your personal satisfaction working in a STEM field.

SWE at UCI Football Draft Event
SWE at UCI invites you to their Football Draft event to provide a chance to network with UCI’s engineering students in a casual setting. During the event, Company representatives will interview students before drafting them into their team. After drafting a team, you will work together to compete with the other teams in a series of physical and intellectual events. The cost of the event is $200 for two representatives and $50 for each additional representative. Light snacks in the morning, and lunch in the afternoon will be provided.

SWE-LA Amazon Fulfillment Center Tour
SWE-LA is hosting a tour of the Amazon Fulfillment Center. Come and join SWE-LA for a tour of an Amazon Fulfillment Center Tour. This fulfillment center is 10,000+ square feet that packs and ships over a million orders a day. Space may be limited, priority will be given to Los Angeles Section members. This is a walking tour, if you will need assistants please contact SWE-LA before you RSVP.

SWE-OC & SWE-LA Joint Technical Tour: Yakult
Join SWE-LA and SWE-OC as we take a trip through Yakult’s state-of-the-art facility, see how Yakult is made and learn more about probiotics! You’ll also get to see how the factory makes, fills, seals and packages our iconic little bottles. The facility can produce 400,000 bottles a day, every one of them packed with billions of Yakult's exclusive probiotic strain, L. casei Shirota.

The new SWE-OC year begins on July 1, 2018, and volunteer opportunities are open! We are looking for people to help organize and plan the exciting events for FY19. The SWE-OC leadership consists of the Executive Council and Committee Chairs who meet once a month to discuss business and plan events. Volunteering for a position is fun, rewarding, and a great way to expand your leadership skills. The FY19 Org Chart and Officer and Committee Chair Manual (which details each position's responsibilities) are available for you to review.

ASCE OC's K-12 Committee is hosting a Dream Big event including several different activities from various engineering organizations for kids aged 9 to 18. SWE-OC is planning on having a booth at the event and lead an engineering activity.

Designed to honor women who demonstrate a passion for science, technology, engineering and/or math, the Superstar program provides women in STEM a platform with which to celebrate their accomplishments and inspire the next generation of female leaders!

Airgas Project Engineer in the Los Angeles Area
This individual will play a key role in the growth of Airgas’s industrial, and bulk gas business through the design and installation of equipment systems supporting Airgas’s portfolio of gas applications and new business signings. With a focus on safety, efficiency and reliability, both internally and externally, this position will be focused on providing Airgas installation project management along withers with support and development of complete process solutions, including gases, technology and equipment. This position requires managing both technical applications implementation and bulk projects (cryogenic storage tanks and associated distribution systems) from design to roll-out. Provide technical support (proposals, projects, products and services development) required by the industrial operations, marketing or sales groups. The projects have a life-cycle of typically less than 1 year and are usually under $1 Million in budget.
