SWE's mission of encouraging young women to consider and choose a career in engineering is best illustrated by the Orange County Section's Outreach programs.
Our programs encourage all young women of every education level in the fields of engineering. We have many opportunities for scholarships. Our outreach with younger students includes Girl Scout events and Science Fair involvement. If you would like to bring some education to your classroom, we offer a Speaker’s Bureau that will come speak to your students. For outstanding students, we acknowledge them with a Certificate of Merit, which is something great to add to a college entrance letter.
These programs educate young women in engineering career opportunities and provide the necessary preparation. These programs also foster enthusiasm for technology; teach technical, organizational and leadership skills; and provide corporate mentorship
